Susan Jantzen began as Pastor at First Mennonite Church in May 2011. Susan had served as interim pastor at Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church in Wichita and at Deer Creek Mennonite Church in Deer Creek, Oklahoma. Most recently, she served at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton, Kansas, as Director of Ministries. Other work experience includes three years in Chad, Africa with Mennonite Central Committee, and sixteen years of experience in various administrative and management capacities with General Conference Mennonite Church. Susan completed a MATS degree at Saint Paul School of Theology and continues coursework at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary Great Plains.
Susan is married to Jim Jantzen, who is an independent contractor with an interest in green construction; he also previously worked with Mennonite Central Committee and as a public school teacher. They have two adult sons, Peter and Robert, who live out of state.
In addition to her love of the church and biblical studies, Susan enjoys music, the out-of-doors, and hearing about life from the perspective of the older generation as well as the younger generation. Susan and Jim are delighted to be a part of the Hillsboro community.

Youth Pastor: Asia Frye email: asiafrye@hotmail.com
I grew up in rural Oklahoma and attended college at The University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) where I received my degree in Religious Studies. For two years after graduation I served at the Wesley Foundation, the United Methodist Campus Ministry, there at OU while my husband wrapped up his PhD in Mathematics. He now teaches at Tabor college, which is why we moved to Hillsboro. We have one daughter, Abilene, who was born in June of 2008 and a handful of pets. We like camping, board games, and cooking new things.
I am the "quarter time" youth pastor here at First Mennonite. We have Hi-Fy (Hillsboro inter-Fellowship Youth) Wednesday nights at 7pm in our still-under-construction youth room. That time incorportates worship, study, and fellowship. We also take fun outings once or twice a month to experience new ways of service, to worship or hear great speakers, or just have fun. A group without substance is meaningless, but a group without fun takes a very narrow view of the Gospel, so we try to find a nice balance. For more info people email me at asiafrye@hotmail.com, or Facebook me.
Fun in Christ, Asia

Secretary: Laura Paulus

Laura and her family have recently moved to Hillsboro from Riverside, CA where they lived and worked at California Baptist University.
Laura and her husband, Jim, attended Tabor and spent the beginning of their married life in Hillsboro where Jim worked for Tabor and Laura was a social worker. They left to continue their educations and start a family. 12 years later, Jim got a job and the family moved to Hillsboro where they are enjoying a slower paced life. Well, as slow as things can get with four kids!
Laura is enjoying getting to know the people of Hillsboro, especially the congregation at FMC. She loves all things frugal, especially couponing which allows her to get things free. She also loves crafts and photography and hanging out with her kids.
